Back In Time 2026 and Remix64.com join forces for a special anniversary remix competition.
Remix64.com celebrates 25 years of keeping Commodore 64 and Amiga remix culture alive. Instead of running a separate anniversary compo, the celebration becomes part of the Back In Time 2026 remix competition.
This is the REMIX64 25th Anniversary Compo, presented by Back In Time.
Main Rule
The original tune, or clearly recognizable parts of it, must be identifiable somewhere in the track.
The goal is not simply to copy the past, but to celebrate it. Take a classic Commodore 64 or Amiga tune and make it your own, while still keeping its musical identity alive.
Creative Direction
You are encouraged to go beyond a simple remix. Expand it, reshape it, reinterpret it, or combine several creative approaches into one track.
Variant 1 – Extended Remix
Expand, Rebuild, ContinueDevelop the original track further. Add new melodies, new sections, new arrangements, or entirely new ideas.
You are free to restructure the track, extend it, or rebuild parts of it, while still keeping a clear connection to the original.
Variant 2 – Genre Transformation
Same Music, Different UniverseReinterpret the original track in a completely different musical style.
The sound world can change dramatically, but the identity of the music should remain recognizable.
You might turn a chiptune into techno, trance, metal, orchestral, ambient, jazz or something else entirely.
Additional Rules
🏆 The winner will receive the Back In Time Compo trophy. Top 3 receive additional minor prizes.
Winners must be present at the event to receive their prizes.
